…well, not alone, but I certainly designed it.
A personal project. It reminds me everytime I light up a cigarette exactly what it is that I’m doing: I’m acting like a sucker by both burning money and killing myself for someone else’s gain. Like, it’s pretty literal.
Anyways, I took it to Monogram Engraving in Mississauga to do, and they did the laser engraving bit for me. Pretty sweet.
Since this was a personal project and isn’t being resold ever, I figured I’d just grab an image from Google and then add some text underneath it. If I ever want to make one for reals, I’ll redesign the skull so that it’s not a swiped image, and much more customized…more “inky”, I think.
It’s a neat test. The laser engraving picks up every. single. detail, so that’s good to know. It’s also kinda fascinating; it forces me to stop and think, which is pretty counter to what I did before when I lit up. Do I want this? Is it cool to “need” a cigarette? Isn’t it pathetic that I need to do this? Aren’t I more pissed off that cigarette companies are profiting off of me killing myself?
And if not, why aren’t I? View full post on Eric Kim
